NEWPORT — A new cafe is expected to open on Thames Street in the coming months.

Robert DePaula, owner of Drift Cafe, told The Daily News on Friday he is opening the quick-serve style cafe “hopefully before summer,” but is still finalizing the details.

The cafe will be at 190A Thames Street. The location was most recently Juice’d Cafe, which closed at the end of October 2019.

Drift Cafe’s victualing license application is on the Newport City Council docket for the regularly scheduled meeting March 11.
